Capturing Confidence: Elevate Your Boudoir Experience with Personal Touches!

As your boudoir photographer, I’m on a mission to turn your session into a celebration of you and your unique style. I’ve got the lighting, the angles and a little dash of photoshop up my sleeves, but let’s talk about the little extra’s that will truly make your boudoir session all about you and an unforgettable experience of course!

  1. SLAY IN HEELS: The Higher, the Hotter!

We all know the power of a pair of killer heels! Not only do they elongate those gorgeous legs of yours, they add a touch of sensuality. They also cover feet, which for some women is a bonus if you’re not keen on them!! So whether it’s a pair of stilettos, platforms or thigh high boots, bring along what you have that make you feel like a fierce goddess! Some images work well barefoot,  but there’s a lot that look HOT with heels or boots if that’s your thing!

2. PROPS FOR PLAYFULNESS: Because Fun is Sexy!

Let’s inject a little playfulness into your session. Maybe you own a feather boa, a vintage fan or hand mirror.  Or a little bit more “risqué ” and bring along a tickle stick, a harness, some cuffs or a blind fold.

At the studio, I do have a drawer of tame little props for my clients to borrow, a little selection of masks, cuffs, gloves, harnesses and body chains to name but a few. It’s always fun to play dress up if you haven’t before!

3. ACCESSORISE TO MESMERISE:Statement Jewellery.

Imagine a classy nude, where we don’t actually see anything as your arms are carefully placed, and you’re wearing just a beautiful chunky necklace or a stunning pair of bold earrings or a delicate body chain. These accents not only add a touch of glamour but also create visual interest in your photos.

4.SOMETHING SOFT: The Power of Texture.

Have you got an oversized woollen cardigan,  a faux fur or a fun tassel jacket. Textures can add depth and dimension to your images, making them even more visually captivating.

5.PERSONAL TOUCHES: The Secret Sauce.

What make you, you? Whether it’s your favourite book as you’re an avid reader, your favourite perfume bottle or a musical instrument. If you’ve got something that you think may work, incorporating personal items into your boudoir session adds a layer of authenticity, they help create a connection between you and your images.

Your boudoir session is all about celebrating your unique beauty, strength and confidence. So, don’t be afraid to bring along those little extras that make you feel like the powerful, radiant individual that you are! Let’s make this experience truly yours.

You’re not just stepping in front of the camera: you’re stepping into a celebration of YOU!

LIGHTS, CAMERA, CONFIDENCE- let’s make magic!

I look forward to booking you in!

Savouring Sensuality: Adding Food To Your Neon Boudoir Session 🍨

Boudoir photography has come a long way from its origins of a private and intimate gift for your loved one on your wedding day or an anniversary present.

Today it’s celebrated as an art form that empowers individuals, boosts self-confidence and captures the beauty of the human body in all its forms.

🍒Being a boudoir photographer, I like to keep a close eye on the trends within the boudoir genre and one of the exciting and fun trends I’ve seen is adding food into the session.

🍦It may sound unconventional and sticky (it sure is the latter!) but adding food is incredibly fun, sensual and adds a playful element to your photos. It also gives you the opportunity to get a little more saucy (excuse the pun) with your facial expressions!

🍓We’ll be using fruits such as luscious strawberries served with whipped cream, ice cream and honey with some hundreds and thousands thrown in!

🍯We’ll be adding ‘ Food play’ as an extra add on option (fees apply) when you choose the ‘Neon shoot’. The food portion will be shot at the end of your session for obvious reasons! Wet wipes and kitchen roll at the ready!

This isn’t for everyone, but for those of you that like a good giggle and fancy spicing up the boudoir images, this is for you!

Above all, adding food to your boudoir session is FUN! It encourages natural laughter and playfulness! It’s an opportunity to let go of inhibitions and embrace the crazy moment! When you’re having fun, it will undoubtedly show in the photos!

So! 🍓What are you waiting for!! Get in touch x

Bridal Boudoir

Bridal Boudoir has become increasingly popular in recent years and for good reason. Not only is a fun and empowering experience for women but an amazing gift for your significant other on your wedding day.

What is Bridal Boudoir?

Bridal Boudoir photography is a form of intimate photography that captures your beauty, femininity and sensuality in a tasteful and elegant way, usually adding some elements of your wedding day, such as your veil, lingerie & garter. This is often done for a surprise gift to give your husband or wife on your big day in the form of a beautiful intimate keepsake album.

Not only is bridal boudoir a thoughtful and unique gift for your husband or wife, but a boudoir portrait session is a confidence building and empowering experience. It’s a chance to celebrate yourself and of course show off the beautiful lingerie you’ve chosen for your big day.

On your wedding day your husband will be feeling all kinds of emotions, as will you! The excitement and the anticipation, possibly the nervousness and apprehension that the day goes to plan and of course the joy, gratitude and love! Can you imagine presenting him with an album of intimate images of yourself, he’ll be blown away and it will be a keepsake he’ll treasure forever and the gift that he will never forget!

Make sure if you do this, you record the whole thing when you present him with this gift and capture his face whilst looking through!

Bridal boudoir photography is also a great way for you to unwind and have some fun! Planning a wedding can be stressful at times, so taking a break to focus on yourself and have some fun can be a welcomed reprieve.

When it comes to looking for the correct photographer for bridal boudoir photography, or in fact any boudoir photography, look through the gallery of images and make sure their style resonates with you and that they have good reviews. It’s very important to work with a photographer that makes you feel comfortable throughout. Your photographer should guide you through the entire process and make you feel at ease at all times.

Here at Somerset Boudoir if you’d like to book a bridal boudoir session, you can choose if you’d like to go light, airy and dreamy with lots of whites and backlit images adding your personal wedding items such as your veil or going for our signature dark and moody look and not adding white at all! Or mixing it up! The choice is yours. You get to choose 3 main set-ups for your session which can be found on this page. At Somerset Boudoir, we work closely with you so that you get the images you desire.

We also offer professional hair and make-up at an add on cost. Or why not schedule your boudoir session on the day you have your wedding make-up trial to save on some pennies?!

In this gallery below are some possible examples of bridal photography.

Please get in touch if you’re thinking of booking a boudoir photography session, I look forward to hearing from you! x

Why have your hair and makeup professionally done for a boudoir shoot?

So you have a Boudoir portrait session booked or perhaps you’re just pondering the idea, and you’re questioning whether the cost of professional hair styling and makeup is really worth it?

Some of you may be brilliant at applying your own makeup, but if you’re like me, no amount of youtube tutorials can help you master that delicious smokey eye or get those damn hair straighteners to create those luscious curls in your hair!

At Somerset boudoir we highly recommend splurging on these two things, and here’s why-

  1. With that fabulous hair and gorgeous flawless face, you are going to feel AMAZING! And it really does show in your photographs when you are feeling confident and beautiful.

  2. It is one less thing to have to worry about and arrange before your boudoir session. Almost everyone feels nervous on the run up to a boudoir shoot, it’s perfectly normal, and the nerves will probably kick in big time, on the morning of the shoot! But with makeup and hair stylist already booked, you can come to the studio and start to relax, take in your surroundings, get pampered and get to know us a bit before the shoot begins, knowing that you will look great for your portrait session. Another plus point, you do not need to worry about wind or rain or heat ruining your hair or makeup on your travels to the boudoir studio!

  3. My make up artists and hair stylist are professionals. They know exactly what tools, colours and products to use to bring out the best of your features to make you look STUNNING. And this is exactly what you want for your boudoir portraits. If you are doing this, you may as well go the whole hog, and do it properly!!

I have nothing to wear to my boudoir session!

Thinking of booking in a boudoir session, but don’t have much in the way of lingerie?

Please don’t think you need to go out and spend a fortune on pieces you won’t wear again (unless you will!)

We can do so much without fancy underwear.

1. Your favourite cocktail dress?

2. Your favourite pair of jeans with a pretty bra or bralette that you already have at home.

3. A pretty pair of high-waisted pants or lace knickers with a cute T-shirt or a sheer top.

4. If you’re happy to do the implied nude shots we can get lots of variation. This is where the viewer knows you are nude but can not see any of the more ‘risque’ areas. We can strategically place fabrics or blankets over you, lay you in certain positions where your modesty is intact, place a jacket over yourself with legs crossed etc, so many options!

If I can recommend ONE piece that you do bring along if you have or want to purchase something new, is a body or body suit.

A bodysuit works well for lots of poses and flatters all body shapes. A lot of the poses will show your stomach, so if you are a little conscious about your stomach area, a body is the answer! Some of the poses will also naturally show skin folds and rolls, which are 100% natural but a lot of ladies don’t like to see them in photographs of themselves, again, body suits are ideal for this.

You can pick up bodies in your everyday online clothes stores, such as H&M, Victoria’s secret & New look.

Hope this helps when preparing for your boudoir experience!

I look forward to meeting you soon,
